These drawings were part of the exhibition Interaction Series Featuring Hand Studies shown at Neutral Grounds in Seward, Nebraska October-November 2019.

statement

The graphite drawings are an extension of the Interaction Series body of work. I wanted to explore the interaction of light with the hands and how the light, or lack-there-of, can interpret what the hands are expressing. I realized that with light, there is also shadows, or darkness. This can also be applied to life, and our situations day-to-day—that there cannot be darkness without light and vise versa. One cannot exist without the other.
